THE Wild West (lyrics/music: Marjan Debaene)

As I walk through the fields of my youth

I wonder how I’ve never come to appreciate them

It’s only now that I see the truth

And the beauty of what’s surrounding me

In the distance I see trees on the hills

I see birds circling round in the bluest blue sky

I breathe it all in, It feels nice to just stand here for a while

Even though this is not my home anymore

I have never thought about closing the door forgood

I need to be here every once in a while

I won’t stick around but i’ll stay for now

These hills stood witness to despair

To bloodshed, killing, bombs in the air

They saw the coming of a new day and age

And they watched me as I walked away

Even though this is not my home anymore

I have never thought about closing the door forgood

I need to be here every once in a while

I won’t stick around but i’ll stay for now

So here I am in the wild, wild west

The place where I grew up and where I’ll lay my head to rest

I breathe it all in, It feels nice to be back here for a while

Even though this is not my home anymore

I have never thought about closing the door forgood

I need to be here every once in a while

I won’t stick around but i’ll stay for now
